Achieving Excellence Together
Summit High School’s award-winning music programs provide a better experience to all students thanks to the ongoing support of the Summit High School Friends of Music. From assisting with the purchase of instruments to sponsoring students for travel to state and regional contests and opportunities, the Friends of Music organization helps make music at Summit more exceptional and equitable.
BAND
The Summit High School Band is has wide-ranging and diverse offerings for students within a vibrant, and competitively successful program. The program’s ensembles include Concert Band, Summit Winds, Jazz Ensemble, Pep Band, Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Drumline. The band is proud to be an active and visible part of the Summit High School community, and is seeking to expand its community engagement and outreach. The band program is directed by Cooper Ottum.
CHOIR
Summit Choirs are dedicated to the joy of spreading music throughout Summit High School, the Central Oregon community and beyond. The program consists of the award-winning Summit Chorale and Skyliner Jazz. The Summit Chorale and Skyliner Jazz have traveled throughout the Northwest and into California to take part in festivals and share their love of music. In addition, you will see Skyliner Jazz perform throughout the community during the holiday season and Valentine's Day. The program is directed by Brian Seed.
ORCHESTRA
The Summit High School Orchestra program, comprised of the Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra, is dedicated to performing classic and contemporary repertoire for string orchestra. The Orchestra performs concerts several times a year and regularly attends local and state-wide music festivals, including the OSAA State Championships in 2018. The program is directed by Stephanie Seed.
